Teresa Amerson Lank

Terri Amerson Lank

Savannah, GA: Teresa Terri Amerson Lank went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 12 , 2011, under the wonderful care of Hospice Savannah after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Terri is the daughter of Don and Judy Amerson. She graduated from Saint Vincent's Academy in 1981. In 1992, Terri graduated from Armstrong State College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1994, Terri graduated with a Masters Degree in Psychology from Augusta College. Terri opened her own private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in children and adolescents. As a cancer survivor herself, Terri's compassion led her to use her own experience to counsel other cancer patients on how to cope with their fears and anxieties.
In 1998, Terri married Keith Lank. They were married on the beach at Tybee Island which was one of her favorite places. After being diagnosed with cancer, Terri and Keith were told that she could not have children. However, God answered her prayers and blessed her with two wonderful children, Jacob and Lizzie.
Terri is survived by her husband Keith Lank, children Jacob and Lizzie Lank. Her parents Don and Judy Amerson, brother Mark Amerson, grandmother Susie Bunger and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving and devoted friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, 4605 Highway 80 East.
Memorial Service will be held at Asbury Memorial Methodist Church, 1008 E. Henry St, Savannah, on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery
Remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O, Box 13190, Savannah, Ga 31416.

My deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Lank. I am terribly sorry to learn of her departure. My heart is so heavy right now that I am truly overwhelmed. I am just hearing the news and finding it so tremendously hard to accept it. Mrs. Lank was a WONDERFUL woman whom I adored!! She was so very helpful with many different issues revolving around my son and his ADHD. She also helped me in many ways as well. She helped me open up and learn how to be a better wife to my husband and to see some things in different ways involving motherhood. She really was an awesome person whom I grew to love!!! She was such a blessing in my life. I will NEVER forget her and her kind spirit, it was so comfortable and carefree. She will always hold a special place in my heart and I will always love her. She taught me things and shared things with me that will forever be cherished. There was a cd that I made for her that I put her name on and titled it 'soft rock'. All of the songs on it have special meaning to me in some way and I wanted to share it with her. I hope that the cd is with her husband and warms his heart in some way. Sharing it with Mrs. Lank was very heartfelt for me. :0 Again, I am so sorry that she is no longer with us, but please know that she left pieces of her loving heart here with us that will last a lifetime. With love, LaToya and Tyler Blount 12 Little Country Place Savannah, Ga. 31406 912-428-3279

Over the recent years Terri was able to take a cold, distant, indifferent teen and turn her back into the loving daughter I knew she could be. She got us through the rough spots, and there were many. She gave me back my family and brought peace to our lives, a precious gift for which I will always be indebted to her. The sun will shine a little less in her absence, but know because of her, there is now light in the eyes of many, where darkness once prevailed. We will miss you terribly.

I knew Terri from graduate school in Augusta. We were good friends during that time but as happens all too frequently, we lost touch. Of all things, Facebook allowed us to reconnect. We sent messages back and forth and found out that we both had gotten married at Tybee Island...in some small way, it seemed like we hadn't drifted so far apart. My thoughts and prayers are with Terri's family.
